femme filth fest was founded in 2024 by film programmer abby wright.
Femme Filth Fest (FFF) was founded in 2024 to showcase gross, taboo, provocative, transgressive, experimental, or otherwise egregious films created by women and transgender/nonbinary filmmakers. We believe the future of film is filthy, so let your freak flag fly!
Femme Filth Fest is driven by a commitment to showcasing stories that push boundaries, create conversation, and embrace artistic risks. By creating a space for films often overlooked by traditional festivals, FFF provides a vital platform for women and gender-expansive filmmakers who want to explore the uncomfortable, the subversive, and the provocative.
A Femme Filth film can be of any genre or topic. Whether it's puke, blood, guts, sex, crime, violence, or anything in between; if you think your film is filthy, it probably is.
FFF strives to create an enriching, supportive community of filmmakers and their teams. Thus, filmmakers of diverse backgrounds (QTBIPOC, filmmakers with disabilities, etc.) are heavily encouraged to submit.
